About Steve

Steve Davis is a digital pioneer and disrupter with over 20 years of experience building and growing successful, high scale ecommerce businesses across the world. Steve has successfully built 3 billion dollar digital consumer businesses and has direct experience in North America, Europe, Asia and Brazil.

Steve is currently an active Board Member, consigliere to CEO’s and advisor to Private Equity firms.

Steve was pulled out of a short retirement in 2017 to become the President of Fanatics International through 2020 until he chose to transition to an advisory role and focus on his board and private equity work. Steve grew the Fanatics business by 300% during his tenure across Europe & Asia. Steve completed a China Joint Venture with Hillhouse Capital in 2021 where he sits as an active board member.

Steve was the Chief Executive Officer of Rue La La through 2016, a leader in the digital private sale space and luxury off-price with ~$400 million in revenue and over 15 million members. Steve joined Rue La La as President in 2010 and became CEO in 2013, leading the company through high growth and to profitability. Steve transitioned to his chosen successor.

Prior to Rue La La, Steve served as a member of the founding executive team at GSI Commerce since 2000. Steve served many roles at GSI Commerce for over 10 years through it’s sale to eBay. Steve built GSI into the leader of outsourced e-commerce services, as an EVP overseeing all of the companies partnerships serving as the advisor, business owner and strategic partner to over 50 leading retailers and brands including Dick’s Sporting Goods, Ralph Lauren, Petsmart and the NFL. Steve incubated the strategy and launched GSI’s Marketing Services division, which grew to a Top 15 Interactive Agency as ranked by Ad Age. Steve also oversaw Corporate Marketing and Product Management. Steve served his final years as President of GSI International, leading and transforming GSI Commerce into a global company - building businesses throughout Europe and Japan.  

Steve has served on the Board of Directors of Fanatics China, Rue La La, Brazil’s leading e-commerce company Lojas Americanas (via their B2W subsidiary) and the leading manufacturer of medical scrubs, Careismatic Brands (formerly Strategic Partners Inc).

Davis received his Master of Business Administration from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and his Bachelor of Science from the University of Delaware. He lives in Barcelona with his wife, Milsy, and their three children.
